Weekly Assignment #3

In honor of those who haven't responded to any of the previous assignments.

You know your folder of files? The folder that you can access no matter what school computer you're on? The one with your username on it?

In My Computer, it looks like this:

yourname on storage1...etc

The letter at the end of it is an "H". Do you know why it's called that? Hint: look at the letter next to the public folder.

The Insert Key

Thanks to the 100 or so of you that responded to the Insert Key Challenge. Where are the rest of you? Big bummer.

In case you were confused, these are mandatory assignments, challenges....I need to hear from all of you each week.

The Insert key does what it says. Type into Word, put your cursor back to the beginning of the sentence, hit Insert, then type. Then hit Insert again. Then type. See!

Crop Tool

So, last week we covered Print Screen. This week, the crop tool is the thing. In fact, Thursday is National Crop Tool Day. Really.

Make sure that you use the crop tool to cut out unnecessary or unwanted edges off any pictures you paste into Word, PowerPoint, or Publisher. Usually, the crop tool will just appear when you click on the picture. If it doesn't, right-click.

On a Windows keyboard, what does the "Insert" key do? You can test it out in Word. Due date: Friday. Email me the answer.

Find the Prt Scrn key on your keyboard. Hit it. Then go to Word and Paste. Can you think of at least 3 good uses for this? If so, email them to me.
